"The Study of Mathematically Precocious Youth"‚ a project directed by Dr. Stanley‚ aimed to discover students who were talented in math‚ also to help plan their accelerated learning plans and to arrange suitable learning environments for them. The article mainly introduced the concepts in SMPY‚ including the definition of mathematically precocious youth‚ the reason of taking only math into account but not full IQ‚ time of accreditation‚ the reason of disregarding the control group in the experiment‚ reasons of emphasizing accelerated learning than enrichment learning. Moreover‚ the author discussed the benefits of this project to the society and the 4-Ds in SMPY‚ which were discovery‚ description‚ development‚ and dissemination. |
