摘 要 |
Students of Low SES and culturally diverse were often underrepresented in gifted
education programs. In this article, the present situations of educating Low SES and
culturally diverse gifted students in Taiwan were analyzed first. Then, the author
discussed the policies of local education authorities and Ministry of Education on the
Low SES and culturally diverse gifted education. At last, the author provided some
suggestions to meet the needs of the Low SES and culturally diverse gifted students.
These suggestions included building the correct concepts and attitudes about gifted
students, building the partnership between parents and teachers, adapting the process
of identification exactly, designing the curriculum to meet the needs of gifted students,
promoting the teachers’ multicultural abilities and skills, and accumulating the data
and research about Low SES and culturally diverse gifted students.
