摘 要 Gifted education conditions in the United States‚ the United Kingdom‚ Japan‚ Canada‚ Australia and South Africa in 1983 were introduced in this article. (1) There was no unified school system in all the states in the U.S. "Mainstreaming" was advocated. (2) Japanese government did not advocate gifted education‚ but non-governmental intellectual institutes provided extracurricular enrichment curriculums for students. (3) Gifted education in UK was limited by traditional education because segregation of gifted children was considered incorrect. (4) Educational policies in different provinces of Canada were independent‚ so gifted educational developments were uneven in the country. (5) Enrichment programs and accelerated education were adopted in Eastern Australia; gifted children centers and special classes were set up in Western Australia. (6) Kobus Neethling designed a complete gifted educational system in Cape of Good Hope‚ South Africa. There were eight extra curriculum centers in the nation.
