Extracurriculum activities benefit the development of specialty of the gifted. Two approaches to the implement of extracurriculum activities: (1) the gifted were encouraged to develop themselves in a group through extracurriculum activities. (2) Individual development were expected through extracurriculum assignments. Based on the two approaches‚ in the beginning of the semester‚ gifted students in Taipei Municipal Jhong-Siao Junior High School were divided into two groups- group of science and group of social science. Then‚ according to principles of "teach students how to perform and appreciate their performances"‚ "change passive leaning to active self study"‚ "arouse creative thinking of students"‚ and" encourage students to think thoroughly"‚ guide the students to conduct extracurruiculum research. Topics and results of studies from two of the groups were introduced in the article. |
