In 1984‚ sixty gifted high school students were involved in a research on their self-perceptions. Six years later‚ follow-up studies were conducted on these teenagers‚ among whom eight females became the basis of this paper. Through the interview with these young women‚ it was found that independence and achievement were two important factors in their ongoing self-development. They suggested that schools should provide gifted students with a regular channel to talk about their differences‚ their fears and career goals. At the end of the paper‚ ten suggestions were proposed as a reference for educators specializing in gifted female education. Keywords: gifted female‚ follow-up studies |
