摘  要 Due to the limited class hours for gifted classes‚ assignments should be designed with extra care to facilitate the development of self-study and independent research abilities. In the first part‚ the author briefly states the theoretical basis‚ course objectives and teaching model of designing assignment for gifted students. Further‚ the author illustrates the principles of designing Chinese assignments for gifted students as follows: the assignment should be able to 1) generate creativity‚ 2) cultivate critical thinking‚ analysis and evaluation abilities‚ 3) develop sensitivity for social problems‚ 4) encourage concerns for humanity values and develop healthy self-awareness‚ 5) emphasize the coordination of knowledge and material to flesh out the course content‚ 6) stress the researches on humanity‚ 7) be entertaining and 8) allow freedom of choice. To create a lively assignment that brings out the potential of gifted students‚ the teacher should not cease to receive further education and knowledge.
