The article discusses the definition of giftedness and ways of identifying and educating gifted children. The article is divided into five sections: 1. Introduction 2. Defining Giftedness-Definitions by different scholars 3. Identifying Gifted Children. In general‚ observation from parents and teachers are the key to discover giftedness. Complemented by certain evaluating tool‚ such as IQ test‚ aptitude test‚ creativity test‚ personality test and academic achievements‚ etc. 4. Education for the Gifted: Individualized instructions‚ specialized education such as "gifted classes‚" "resource classes" and "special schools." Other measures such as early enrollment‚ grade skipping‚ and shortened school year‚ etc.‚ are also common methods. 5. Conclusion-Hoping to discover more gifted students and realize their potentials to contribute to the society. |
