摘 要 |
Starting from the definitions of giftedness and the functions of existing assessment tools‚ this paper discussed the necessity of observation in the process of identification. If the sole purpose for observation is to passively meet the requirement of a standardized procedure‚ observation would not only be redundant but bring about many unnecessary problems‚ since proper recommendations from parents and teachers could do the trick. If‚ on the other hand‚ observation is designed to actively evaluate the needs‚ it would require a careful coordination of the goals of the gifted programs at school so as to make a tangible effect. Keywords: gifted children‚ identification‚ observation |
