The purpose of the article is to explore "the curriculum design and application of independent study" which based on research and to understand its value‚ intension and essentiality. To compare the basic idea on the curriculum design of independent study in America‚ France and Japan‚ the idea of the curriculum design of independent study‚ principles of the curriculum design and the comparison of the differentiation between study learning and study curriculum would be addressed in. Furthermore‚ the discussion of processing steps and curriculum evaluation on independent study‚ its role‚ its function‚ its development and its application on contemporary gifted education would also be elaborated.
