摘  要 Through a longitudinal study of history and a cross-sectional study of the status quo‚ this paper probed into the issues on twice exceptional students. Under the framework of research history‚ the past thirty years had seen changes in the term for twice exceptional students‚ going through three stages from "gifted handicapped‚" "gifted with disability‚" to "twice-exceptional" or "dual-exceptional." Present studies‚ other than its lack in quantity‚ were mostly targeted toward gifted learning disabled (GLD) rather than gifted emotional disabled such as gifted students with autism. Accordingly‚ the paper further on discussed current definitions for twice exceptional students‚ its occurrence rate‚ characteristics and identification. Through the discussion‚ the author aimed to explore the possible reasons why twice-exceptional students were easily neglected and overlooked.
